Relics of the Olden Time

Laura Keim presented "Relics of the Olden Time: John Fanning Watson and Material Memorials of Early Philadelphia" at the invitation of The Philadelphia Club’s Program Committee. In the recorded PowerPoint presentation, Laura discusses objects associated with noted antiquarian and annalist, John Fanning Watson (1779-1860) and the origins of the Colonial Revival in the 1820s. Her slides include objects and manuscripts from the collections of Stenton, Wyck, Winterthur, the Germantown Historical Society, the Library Company of Philadelphia, the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, and Independence National Historical Park.
