Fall 2009 DamesLines Letter from the Stenton Chair Dear Friends of Stenton, This is my farewell letter to you as Chair of the Stenton Committee. It has been my pleasure to serve in this capacity for four years. As I write to you today I am filled with many emotions, but primary among them is a great sense of pride. I am so proud of this historic site called Stenton, its Staff, Friends and Committee Members. Over the lifetime of an historic site, four years is like the blink of an eye, but during this time, and with your support, so much has been accomplished. The award winning and innovative History Hunters Youth Reporter Program has successfully emerged from its experimental phase and become an endowed education program. And springing from the collaborative successes of History Hunters, the organization Historic Germantown, a collaboration of historic sites, is gaining strength and taking flight. So it is with great pride, appreciation and deeply felt gratitude that I turn over the gavel to the new Chair of the Stenton Committee, Lisa Street, who is already on the move with great energy! And, while my position on the Stenton Committee has changed, I look forward to remaining active, serving on the Historic Structures committee. I invite you to come to Stenton, entering the Mansion over the same threshold that James Logan, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington and Thomas Jefferson crossed. Enter the fine front parlour where Sarah Logan and Deborah Norris Logan poured tea, and place yourself among history as our honored guest. Sincerely,
