THE NATIONAL SOCIETY OF THE COLONIAL DAMES OF AMERICA IN THE COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA

For the last 100 years the NSCDA/PA has administered Stenton as an historic house museum. The NSCDA/PA encourages patriotic service and education through a range of programs, many held at its headquarters house in Philadelphia. The Society consist of women who are citizens of the United States of America, and whose ancestors settled in an American Colony prior to 1750 and rendered service to the Colonies before July 5, 1776. Its mission is to collect and preserve manuscripts, traditions and artifacts of the Colonial period, to preserve and restore buildings connected with the early history of the United States, to create popular interest in Colonial history, and to stimulate a spirit of true patriotism and genuine love of country. The Board and the Stenton Committee of the NSCDA/PA oversee the property and is actively involved in its many programs and events.
